I just wanted to make sure that everyone knew that today was Barbie's 50th Birthday.

And damn does that broad still look good.

She may have had a few changes over the years, but she will always be my favorite. In my head, the true icon of feminism. Which I always get shit for. But look at all the groovy jobs Barbie has had over the years, all while looking amazing. Femi-nazis hate me, by the way. I'll probably sport my Barbie purse the remainder of the week, just to spite them.

So here's to you, Barbie. May you have another great ageless 50 ahead of you!

Alright. I'll be the loser that posts about it. Because my tween-girl-like obsession with this book series prevents me from doing any real work at all today. :)

TWILIGHT THE MOVIE OPENS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT!! WHOO HOO!!

I have a deeper love of Edward Cullen that I'm pretty sure I've ever had of any real live person. Which is an issue for my shrink and I to discuss at a later date.

But at 12:01am tonight I shall be surrounded by 13 year old girls and my two best gays (Jeremy and Adam) as we eat popcorn, down soda, and fantasize about becoming vampires ourselves.

Josh, needless to say, will be in bed.
Prude.

My personality type: the groundbreaking thinker. Take the free iPersonic personality test!

I encourage everyone to take it. Okay so some of the questions might be too cut and dry, but I think the outcome is pretty accurate. Fascinating. Thanks, Roxy.

So I'm an out of shape loser.

I want to believe that I'm in good physical condition. That I can handle what is thrown at me. After all, I play in a co-ed volleyball league a majority of the year, I take boxing class on occasion, and run for leisure... when its nice out.

And there is excuse number one.

Last night was my first day of "training." I had to run 2 miles on my own. Quick two miles. Nothing to shout about. I've done this a hundred times before. Of course, yesterday was also the day the movers came to take my piano to my new house. So after dealing with that fiasco, wanting to kill my new landlord for deciding to tile the front foyer the day I was moving the heaviest piece of furniture I own, and the torrential downpour/ typhoon that moved through KC... I wasn't exactly in the mood to put on the ol' kicks.

But I did. I headed down to Scott Fitness (the best gym in the entire world) and put on a few different playlists as I cruised my two miles, sweating my ass off, and breathing way too heavy for my own good. Maybe I'm doing this too fast.

The gym set up at the Scott Fitness in Westport is really odd. There are a few treadmills that faced the other cardio equipment directly... with no TV in front of them. So you are essentially staring at the people on the elipticals (machines that I believe give no real benefit to anyone), and hoping they don't think you are a complete freak.

There were three people in front of me today:
"Guy Who Should Be Gay"- an Architectual Digest reading, StairMaster climbing, bleached blonde, iPod listening fellow who really worked hard on the Eliptical (if that's even possible) even resorting to a few minor grunts during the hills, and a whole lot of brow wiping.

"Little Girl Who Demands Respect"- This wee one was directly in front of me. She couldn't have been more than 5 foot tall if she was an inch. She coordinated head to toe, and wouldn't look up when she worked out. She kept staring at the numbers flipping hoping to burn that one last calorie. She was a little hard core for me.

"Big Dude With a Tat He At One Time Wanted but Now Regrets it"- Roughly 6'4", and 280 lbs, this monstrosity has an embarrassingly large tattoo running from shoulder blade to elbow. He wears the sleeveless shirt to show it off and occasionally looks at it longingly, as if someday its going to fit him or make him cool. But for now he's just an overweight guy on an eliptical next to a short chick who won't give him the time of day.

I know what you are thinking and to answer you: yes, this is exactly what I do at the gym.

Its raining and hailing like a mother fucker outside.

I haven't had any desire to work since I stumbled upon the Whammy picture (from Press Your Luck) and started designing shirts around it... which lead me to plan a major pub crawl before my birthday, designing 3 more t-shirt designs, and wasting 2 hours at work.

So now I'm going to go home. I don't really want to. But its too crappy to be outside, I can't drive around cause of the weather and I have no desire to really go see my family...

I feel as though I'm at an impasse.

Sigh.

A wee bit premature but nonetheless heartfelt...

This past year has been the most whirlwind experience of my life:
3 jobs,
4 job offers,
business trips,
meeting someone new,
figuring out a life path,
sticking with it,
having the GREATEST birthday week imaginable...
and of course, you all. Friends and family who (I swear to God) I would be no where without.

2008 is going to be one for the books, people. So stay tuned.

Same Bat-time. Same Bat-channel.

Je vous aime tout et bonne année!

My buddy Josh (if you were at my party you met him... big, tall, hilarious... my partner in crime at AGR) and I are heading to the KSU vs. Oregon game this evening. Not sure what kind of time we have to see anyone or even when we will actually make it to Manhappiness. But a heads up to y'all just the same.

Apparently its the Christmas Lighting at Auntie Maes this evening... and it would be a crying shame to miss that. :)
